The SEIKO story began back in 1881 when the founder of the business commenced with a small retail repair business in the Ginza district of Tokyo.

Today, SEIKO is marketed around the world and is one of the leading watch brands on the global stage.

SEIKO is proud of its rich history and milestone achievements in watch making –

· 1913 SEIKO produced the first mechanical wristwatch manufactured in Japan

· 1929 SEIKO is appointed as the official timepiece for Japan’s National Rail

· 1964 SEIKO serves as the Official Timer to the Tokyo Olympic Games

· 1969 SEIKO introduces the world’s first automatic watch equipped with the vertical clutch and column wheel

· 1969 SEIKO introduces the world’s first quartz watch

· 1973 SEIKO introduces the world’s first six-digit LCD quartz watch

· 1988 SEIKO introduces AGS now known as Kinetic

· 2005 SEIKO introduces Spring Drive to market, the only watch to reflect the true nature of time

· 2009 SEIKO distributes the ANANTA collection worldwide, a collection of Spring Drive and high-end mechanical calibers.
